Short Answer: Call the Character You Just Watched

Almost every companion app has a phone icon somewhere by now. The icon isn't what matters. What matters is who picks up, and whether you already care about her before the line connects.

My answer is GoLove.ai. The phone icon is in every chat, and those chats include the cast of GoLove's Series, its vertical 18+ short dramas. You watch episodes 1–2 for free, tap 'Start Chatting' under the player, and call her. Voice calls and voice messages are PRO features.

Here's the baseline I hold every app to. On most of them, a voice call means a stranger with a nice voice. On GoLove, you're calling the woman from the episode you just finished. The call is backed by three things:

The phone icon in every chat

You start the call from the phone icon in the chat header. There's no separate dialer and nothing buried in a menu. The call happens in the same thread you've been texting in, which gives you an easy rule: if you can chat with a character, you can call her. The tier is the only limit. Voice messages and calls are listed on the PRO plan card, next to all NSFW content and 100 Stars a month.

Chat Settings set her voice before you dial

Chat Settings has three controls, and each one is saved per character:

• Voice picker: choose how she sounds on the line.
• Lust Level: five steps, from 1 (sweet and wholesome) to 5 (unfiltered and intense).
• Response Length: five steps, from 1 (short and snappy) to 5 (rich and immersive).

The per-character saving matters more than it sounds. A slow-burn Series lead and a blunt temptress shouldn't sound alike, and you shouldn't have to reset the sliders every time you switch threads.

Playback on every message

Do you want voice only during a call, or across the whole conversation? Every character message has a voice playback button, so your entire text history can also be played as audio. You can listen to a reply instead of reading it, even with no call running. If you're comparing ai companion voice messages across apps, ask this first: is voice available on the whole thread, or only inside a separate call mode?

From Episode 2 to a Phone Call: One Evening, Walked Through

This is the path the app lays out, using one real title.

1. Open the Series. 'My AI Girlfriend' runs 7 episodes and stars Lexie (@iamlexiebabe). The setup: a black box lands on Milo's doormat, addressed to the girl next door. He keeps it. Inside are glasses that bring his perfect girl to life, but the account isn't his, and its owner lives one wall away.
2. Watch episodes 1–2 free. Each episode is 60–100 seconds, vertical, with subtitles in nine languages. You don't need an account for these two. Episode 3 onward needs PRO, plus a few Stars per episode.
3. Tap 'Start Chatting'. The button sits under the player. The cast list opens Lexie's profile, and the chat is one tap from there.
4. Tune Chat Settings. Pick her voice, then set Lust Level and Response Length.
5. Tap the phone icon. This is the step that needs PRO.
6. Ask for a photo. Tap the media button, then Send Photo, and describe the scene in your own words. It arrives in about 20–45 seconds and costs 1 Star.

Where the rivals win on price and memory

Credit where it's due. Character.AI has one of the cheapest monthly paths to calls, and c.ai+ makes them unlimited. It's strictly SFW, though, so for this audience it missed the mark (it won't for everyone). Replika's annual plan is among the lowest, but romance is restricted for newer accounts. On memory, Nomi is the standout, with short-, medium- and long-term layers paired with hands-free calls.

Where GoLove.ai pulls ahead after you hang up

If voice is all you want, Muah AI and DreamGF both list calls. GoLove's advantage comes before and after the call. Before you dial, you've already met the cast on screen. After you hang up, you can get photos and video of that same character in the same thread. For the other five apps, we could not confirm anything that connects a call to a show.

Episodes 1–2 of every Series are free right now. That lets you pick the woman you'd call before you decide whether PRO is worth it.

What the Call Turns Into: Photos, Video Notes and Her Own Clips

A call that ends in silence is forgettable. The same thread gives you more to do afterward, starting with photos:

• Photo request: tap the media button, then Send Photo, and write the scene yourself. It takes about 20–45 seconds and costs 1 Star. Her face and body match her avatar and earlier photos.
• Generate Video: one tap under any photo turns that scene into a clip of about 5 seconds. It takes about a minute and costs 10 Stars.
• Video Note: a round talking clip with sound, ready in under 90 seconds, for 10 Stars. You tell her what to say or do.

If a clip from the thread is close but not quite right, Video Edit lets you rework it instead of starting over. That keeps your Stars from disappearing into full regenerations.

What We'd Fix at GoLove.ai Before You Dial

None of these is a dealbreaker. You should still know about them before you pay:

1. The PRO wall. Calls and voice messages need PRO, and so does episode 3 onward. A free viewer who just loved episodes 1–2 hits that wall exactly when curiosity peaks. A short sample call would make the upgrade much easier to justify, and this is the change I'd make first.
2. The price on your screen. PRO lists at about $19.99/month or $119.88/year (around $9.99/month). Because of regional pricing and the −70% new-user promo, the number you see may be different.
3. Stars and calls. We could not confirm whether calls use Stars on top of the subscription. Check the current plans in the app before you build a budget around it.
4. Male (Soon). The Explore filter shows this label, which means there are no male characters to call yet.

The friction is at the paywall. The chain itself works. Once you have PRO, the episode, the call and the photos all happen in one thread, and that chain is why you'd choose GoLove.

Skip it if you want male characters, or if you won't pay for PRO at all.

Confidence: high for Series fans who want their companion to have a backstory. Lower if all you want is a voice, with nothing after the call.
