AI Companion Apps Under 10 Dollars: Where $9.99 Goes
The Short Answer: GoLove.ai on the Annual PRO Plan
On the AI companion apps worth opening, ten dollars a month buys exactly one thing: the annual plan. So which app costs under ten dollars is the wrong question. The useful one is what that $9.99 actually unlocks once the year is paid for.
My pick is GoLove.ai on annual PRO. It runs about $9.99 a month, billed as roughly $119.88 for the year (checked Oct 2026, varies by region and promo). Here's the catch up front, where it belongs: you pay all twelve months at once. If you binge dramas, that payment opens the Series past the two free episodes. It also adds 100 Stars every billing month, which go toward locked episodes, photos of the cast mid-chat and the occasional video.
The entry point couldn't be simpler. Tap any face on Explore and the chat opens straight away, with no setup screen in between. That's the cheapest way to find out whether a character clears the bar before you commit a year to her.
What $9.99 a Month Means on These Apps
One plain fact first. On both apps, the ~$9.99 number is an annual plan wearing a monthly label, and paying month to month on either one puts you at roughly double the budget.

The row that matters is a tie. OurDream Premium annual and GoLove PRO annual both land at ~$9.99 a month and $119.88 a year, so price alone picks no winner. What separates them is what the credits buy, and that's where the next section goes.
Keep an eye on the 30-Star pack, too. It shows the same $9.99 figure, but it's a different product entirely: a one-time top-up, not a plan. For the wider field, see our roundup of AI companion apps that do video.
What 100 Stars a Month Buy on GoLove PRO
> 100 Stars/month included with PRO · 1 Star = 1 image · videos from 5 Stars
Before you subscribe, $119.88 is just a line on a receipt. After, it becomes a monthly budget you can actually count. The figures below are straight arithmetic from the listed Star costs, not a usage log:
- 100 photos at 1 Star each
- 20 videos at the 5-Star starting price
- 10 photo-to-video clips or 720p videos at 10 Stars each
- A mix, such as 50 photos plus 5 photo-to-video clips
Watch Popular Shows starring your favorite AI characters.
The allowance is restored each billing month. Spend it however you like, just don't plan on it piling up.
Photos mid-chat at 1 Star each
This is the standout line item, and it's why I'd put chat first in this plan. In any chat, hit the media button, pick Send Photo and describe the scene in your own words. In roughly 20–45 seconds GoLove returns a photo of that same character, with her face and body kept consistent with her avatar and earlier photos. Memory holds the conversation history, so you're not re-introducing yourself before every request.
Videos from 5 Stars, 10 for photo-to-video
Under any chat photo sits a one-tap Generate Video button for the same scene. It turns out a clip of about 5 seconds in roughly a minute, for 10 Stars. That makes it the expensive line item, and the one I'd ration.
Stars that also pay for locked episodes
From episode 3 on, PRO members unlock each Series episode with a few Stars, drawn from the same 100. So every episode you unlock costs you a few photos. That trade is the real budget decision.

Ten Dollars of Drama: How the Series Fit the Budget
Here's how the budget plays out on a single show, following the way access is set up.
The two free episodes of every series
Say you open "My AI Girlfriend," which has 7 episodes and stars Lexie. Milo keeps a black box addressed to the girl next door, and inside are glasses that bring his perfect girl to life. Episodes 1 and 2 play free, even without an account. The same rule covers every show (5 series and 32 episodes as of Oct 2026), so 10 episodes cost nothing. Each one runs 60–100 seconds in vertical format, subtitled in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, Russian and Ukrainian. New episodes arrive every week, per GoLove.
Episode 3, PRO and a few Stars
Episode 3 is the wall. A free account needs PRO here, and from then on each further episode costs a few Stars from your monthly 100. Before the wall, you get two free episodes and a cliffhanger. After it, you're paying $9.99 a month on annual, minus a few Stars per episode.
What GoLove.ai gives you:
- Live voice calls and voice messages
- She remembers your chat history
- Photos on request in the chat
- Image generator with 35 realistic poses and 21 outfits
- 2 reward stars every day you log in
Chatting with the star after the credits
Four buttons sit under the player: Follow Series, Start Chatting, Create Video and Create Image. Tap Start Chatting and open Lexie's chat. Hit the media button and ask for a photo, and for 1 Star you get the same face you just watched.
That loop is the reason to start tonight. The first two episodes cost nothing, and by the cliffhanger you'll know whether Lexie is worth the year.
Where OurDream Matches the $9.99 Price
OurDream deserves a straight hearing, because on price it's a dead heat. Premium drops to about $9.99 a month on annual billing ($119.88 for the year, checked Sep 2026), against about $19.99 billed monthly.
BUILD HER YOUR WAY
Face, voice and personality, all set by you.
Its strength is the bundle. Chat, image generation and video generation all come in one subscription, with memory over recent message history. Images, voice and video draw on a separate DreamCoins balance, 1,000 per billing cycle on Premium. Two things weigh against that: the custom character builder has a steeper setup curve, and OurDream is web-only, with no native mobile app (a real cost if most of your bingeing happens on a phone).
Is OurDream cheaper? Not at the annual tier. It sits at the same ~$9.99/month.
If you mainly want a bundled generator and don't care about shows, OurDream is a solid bet, and I'll say that without hedging. On drama content, we could not confirm any series or episode format on OurDream, so that doesn't factor into this budget comparison.
GoLove.ai's Free Tier and the Upfront-Year Catch
The free tier is real but thin. And the $9.99 on the banner isn't what you pay on day one. Here's where the limits sit:
- Free tier: you get 2 daily reward Stars, a limited number of Feed videos per day and episodes 1–2 of every series. Past that, check the current plans in the app.
- Monthly billing: PRO at about $19.99 a month is double the budget. The ~$9.99 rate only exists on annual.
- Upfront: the $9.99 figure means paying about $119.88 at once, not ten dollars at a time.
- Region and promo: prices are approximate as of Oct 2026 and shift by country and running offer.
- New-user offer: a "First Subscription −70%" banner appears for new visitors, described as limited-time. No deadline or dollar figure is shown to a logged-out visitor, so don't plan around one.
- Stars run out: once the included 100 are spent, refill packs start at about $9.99 for 30.
- ULTRA: about $59.99 a month or $359.88 a year. That's a different budget entirely.
None of this is hidden. It's just easy to miss when the headline number says $9.99. If the upfront year or the Star math doesn't fit, you'll know before paying a cent, because the free episodes and daily Stars come first.
GoLove at $9.99 a Month: Pros and Cons Side by Side
Judged on the spec alone, here are both sides of the ledger.
Pros
- Series past episode 2, with a few Stars per unlock
- 100 Stars restored each billing month
- 1-Star photos in chat that keep a consistent face
- Generate presets: 35 realistic poses, 21 outfits, 34 backgrounds, in batches of 2, 4 or 8
- Unlimited Feed
- Voice messages and calls included in PRO
- The whole app localized in 18 languages
Cons
- Annual-only for the ~$9.99 monthly rate
- Stars needed for every locked episode
- Stars run out, and refills cost extra
- No male characters yet, with Male listed as "Soon" on Explore
- Prices that shift by region and promo
Measure it against the baseline (a $9.99 monthly figure that turns out to need a $119.88 payment) and the pros column only goes forgettable if you never open a series.

The $9.99 Pick, and Who Should Skip It
> Verdict: GoLove.ai annual PRO, at about $9.99/month, is the budget plan that pays for the drama and for chatting with its stars. For: adult bingers capped at ten a month who can pay for a year upfront.
Pick OurDream if you want a bundled chat, image and video generator at the same annual price and don't care about series. That's its real strength.
For this search, though, GoLove.ai clears the bar more completely. The same ~$9.99 a month unlocks the Series past episode 2. It also puts 100 Stars a month toward episodes, 1-Star photos of the cast and the odd video, with the chat one tap from the player.
Is paying a year at once a deal-breaker? Then skip both annual plans. The 10 free episodes are the honest test, so watch them first.
My confidence is high on the price math and moderate on how long any promo pricing holds.
